Eman Elmi

Dr. Eman Elmi is a specialist who is passionate about helping his patients overcome their foot and ankle issues. He completed his undergraduate education in Biomedical Sciences at UC San Diego and went on to receive his doctorate at the California School of Podiatric Medicine, where he graduated at the top of his class. Thereafter he completed his 3-year surgical residency in Foot & Ankle Surgery with Rearfoot Reconstruction at St. Mary’s Medical Center in San Francisco, where he served as Chief Resident.

He received extensive training and experience in reconstructive foot and ankle surgery, arthroscopy, sports medicine, biomechanics, foot, and ankle trauma, wound care, and diabetic limb salvage. Dr. Elmi has additional training in minimally invasive surgery, providing better outcomes for his patients. Dr. Elmi is adept at treating all pathology pertaining to the foot and ankle. He brings a wealth of experience in the diagnosis and treatment of both common and complex foot and ankle problems to Diablo Foot & Ankle. He has spent several years in private practice in Marin County and is the current Chief of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery at Marin Health Medical Center.

His recent move to the East Bay was motivated by the desire to be closer to family. His treatment philosophy is best described as ensuring his patients feel confident with the care they are provided. His goal is to make sure each patient understands the cause relating to their visit so that they leave the office comfortable with the care they will receive. Dr. Elmi tailors each patient's treatment plan based on their individual goals and needs and makes sure every patient is equipped with the knowledge they need to maintain excellent foot and ankle health. Dr. Elmi is an active member of the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, American Podiatric Medical Association, and American Society of Podiatric Surgeons.

When he isn’t augmenting his professional skills or working with patients to develop custom treatment plans, Dr. Elmi enjoys spending time with his wife and children. They regularly hike, bike, and spend time in the great outdoors.
