Jewel Johl

Dr. Jewel Johl is a board certified Medical Oncologist and Hematologist with 20 years of experience caring for patients with cancer and blood disorders.

Dr. Johl graduated with a degree in biochemistry with honors from University of California at Davis.  He then received his medical degree from Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine and completed his internship and residency training at University of California, Davis. Dr. Johl then went on to complete a three-year fellowship in hematology and medical oncology at University of California, Davis where he was appointed Chief Fellow.

Following completion of medical training, Dr. Johl joined Diablo Valley Oncology and Hematology Medical Group in 2005 which later became part of John Muir Health in 2021.  In 2024 he joined BASS Cancer Center where he is currently pursuing his passion for providing comprehensive cancer care while helping discover innovative treatment options through clinical research.

His clinical interests include treatment of all types of cancer as well as benign and malignant blood disorders.  

He takes a collaborative, evidence-based and thoughtful approach to patientcare.  If you are looking for a medical oncologist who is experienced, compassionate, and knowledgeable with a warm bedside manner and excellent listening skills, Dr. Johl is an excellent choice. He is a dedicated physician who is committed to providing his patients with the best possible and innovative care. He was born and raised in India, which has formed the foundation for a unique and culturally-sensitive approach to patient care. 

When Dr. Johl is not seeing patients, he enjoys road biking, traveling, painting, hiking and spending time with family and friends.
