Dr. Saurin Shah is a thoracic surgeon who specializes in diagnosing and treating patients with conditions of the wall surrounding the chest cavity, the lungs, the heart and the esophagus. He completed his general surgical training and cardiothoracic surgery fellowship at Albany Medical Center in Albany, New York. He also completed a second fellowship in advanced minimally invasive thoracic surgery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, where he trained under Dr. Robert McKenna.
In 2011, he joined the thoracic team at Bay Area Surgical Specialists (BASS). In addition to treating patients for BASS in Walnut Creek and Castro Valley, he has helped grow the thoracic wings at Eden Medical Center, John Muir Medical Center, and Sutter Delta Medical Center. In 2014, he was appointed the medical director of Thoracic Surgery at Sutter Delta Medical Center, where he is dedicated to helping diagnose and treat patients in the East Bay area.
